........Juicing
fresh juice is better for our health than buying bottled juice
Fresh home made juice retains a greater proportion of its nutrient levels when
compared to bottles / cartons of juice. This is because the bottling process
causes loss of nutrients.
Fresh juice
will also be free from losing nutrients due to age if drunk straight away. A
lot of commercial juices are heat treated to lengthen the time they can stay
on the shop shelf; this process can destroy vital nutrients.
...............................................Orange
Juice
Citrus juice is probably the most commonly known and commonly drunk type of
juice. Millions of people drink Orange juice and Grapefruit juice at breakfast
time. It is no surprise that citrus juice is a great help to the body's morning
detox cycle as it contains high levels of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps boost the
immune
system and is a powerful anti-oxidant. Citrus fruits also contain bioflavinoids
which help the body to absorb the vitamin C present in the juice.
Citrus juices can also benefit our health in other less publicised ways, for
instance oranges are rich in potassium which can help reduce blood pressure
and reduce the risk of strokes. The soluble fibre pectin is found in the pith
of citrus fruits, pectin can help reduce cholesterol levels.

Fruits
with a high water content are a joy to juice - cantaloupe melon, water melon,
citrus fruits such as orange and grapefruit, apples, pears, grapes
All
these fruits taste great and a lot of people find it difficult drinking
vegetable (especially green vegetable) juices without adding some kind of
fresh fruit juice to 'brighten up' the taste. Apple juice is a firm favourite
for improving the taste of a juice as are grapes. Citrus juice doesn't tend
to mix so well (in my opinion) with vegetable juices.
